SHAH ALAM, June 9 — The state government will be conducting virtual expos, seminars and investment meetings to share ideas with industry players, says Selangor Investment, Industry and Trade, Small and Medium Industries Committee chairman.
Datuk Teng Chang Kim said the method was adopted following the state’s planned investment promotions throughout the year, scheduled both domestically and abroad, were stunted due to Covid-19.
“We will host these virtual programmes to replace the investment and trade promotions planned via the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS).
“Aside from providing incentives to attract both local and foreign investors, the state government will also conduct a study on the policies and the application process of industrial development,” he told SelangorKini today.
On March 31, Teng had said that the Selangor administration would have to evaluate current developments on whether to continue on with the SIBS 2020, which was initially scheduled from October 14 to 17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The international summit would include four main components, namely the Selangor International Expo (SIE), the Selangor-Asean Business Conference, the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention and the Selangor Research and Development and Innovation Expo.
