SHAH ALAM, July 6 — The Selangor government will introduce a career counselling helpline to help those facing work-related issues, especially women who have lost their jobs or those encountering problems with their businesses.
State Entrepreneur, Rural, Village and Traditional Village Development Committee chairman Rodziah Ismail said the initiative is expected to kickstart early this month and would be an advantage compared to the previous method of one-way communication.
“Through this counselling platform, we would be able to listen, guide and help the individuals as best as we could.
“The service includes experienced counsellors and we hope that many will benefit from it,” she told SelangorKini today.
Rodziah said the move was aimed at empowering the people that are in need especially in terms of emotional support (for those who have lost their job) or on improving business capital.
She had also advised those who have lost their source of income, especially during the movement control order period, to refer to assistance programmes provided by the state government or any other related agencies.
