SHAH ALAM, July 7 — The Covid-19 test results of the 700 individuals involved in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting will be out on Thursday, says the Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the precautionary measure was taken to ensure that the venue for the sitting, which is scheduled to convene on Monday, is safe from the Covid-19 infection.

He said though the Covid-19 situation in Selangor is under control, Amirudin had reminded the people to continue to remain disciplined and observe the standard operating procedure (SOP).

“We have to be alert and cautious of Covid-19 as the statistics have shown that more than half of the cases detected were asymptomatic, who were carriers of the virus,” said Amirudin, who had also undergone the screening procedure at the Annex building of the Selangor State Secretariat building, here today.

“The good news is the way the body is responding to the virus… this is why the patients remain healthy despite being carriers and those who have chronic diseases were able to fight the infection,” he said.

The Selangor Economic Recovery Plan will be broadcasted live via the SelangorTV YouTube channel on July 13.

The state legislative assembly is scheduled to be held from July 13 to 24.
