MB: Execution of economic recovery plan to strengthen state economy

SHAH ALAM, July 14 — The Selangor government has drawn up the economic recovery plan to prevent a stock market crash as well as to rebuild the economy after Covid-19, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar said the recovery plan includes three aspects, namely food security, economic sustainability, and capacity building, with a total economic value of RM55.85 billion.

“The state government had formulated the plan as an economic resilience in redevelopment after experiencing a sudden shock.

“Following the revelation of the plan, I am confident that Selangor would become a magnet for job opportunities, (which would) improve the living standards of the people and strengthen the economic resilience to prepare for future challenges,” he said on a Facebook post last night.

Yesterday, Amirudin had announced the recovery plan, which is the third phase of the Selangor economic stimulus package — a continuation of the Selangor Cares Package and Selangor Cares Package 2.0.

To date, the state administration has disbursed RM260,144,464.54 for the initial economic stimulus packages, which had benefitted 3.5 million people in Selangor.
