Selangor to reveal RM50 bln Covid-19 economic recovery plan

SHAH ALAM, July 13 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari will be tabling Selangor’s third economic stimulus package as the state’s economic recovery plan with a total allocation of over RM50 billion.

The package themed “Strengthening People’s Resilience, Stimulating State Prosperity” (Menyemarak Kebingkasan Rakyat Memacu Kesejahteraan Negeri” will emphasise on three aspects namely food security, economic sustainability, and capacity building.

The announcement will be revealed on the first day of the Selangor state legislative assembly sitting at 11am today.

Previously, the Selangor government has announced an additional allocation of RM272.5 million in the second phase of the state stimulus package, the Selangor Cares Package 2.0, bringing the total amount allocated to cushioning the economic impact of Covid-19 to RM400 million.

On March 20, the state administration had announced a RM127.78 million allocation for the first phase of the stimulus package, which featured seven initiatives.
