SHAH ALAM, Aug 11 — The Federal government should come up with a holistic policy to control the intake of foreigners into the country, says Selangor state executive councillor Ng Sze Han.

He said failure to formulate such policy will see an influx of foreigners entering the country taking over the business industry especially as hawkers and petty traders, which he said continue to rise.

“If the Federal government do not return them back to their home country, then they will take over these sectors.

“However the state government has taken stringent action to ensure the businesses are not being run by foreigners in Selangor,” he told SelangorKini.

Ng added that the state local authorities will not compromise in cases involving the leasing of licenses to foreigners.

“We will take strict action by enforcing the By-Laws to ensure no foreigners are involved in the business sectors particularly as hawkers and petty traders as this leaves a negative impact on the local business as well as the image of Selangor and Malaysia,” he said.
