KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — The Virtual Selangor Asean Business Conference (SABC) 2020 kicks off its ‘Asean Rebound to Recovery’ live webinar series today.
Themed, “Asean: A Beacon of Light in a Pandemic-hit World Economy”, its organiser Invest Selangor Bhd said Virtual SABC will host a monthly series of four webinars from August 25, 2020, at 11am -12.15pm, with the main Selangor International Business Summit 2020 slated for October 14, 2020 from 11am – 12.15pm.
“The fully online event will provide a wide perspective on economic integration in Asean and in addressing core and current issues related to the Asean Economic Community, especially the detrimental effects of the global pandemic on the world economic scenario and Asean’s response,” it said.
The first series of the event will see prominent speakers such as China-Asean Investment Cooperation Fund, Hong Kong managing director Than Su Ee, International Data Corporation (IDC) Asean, managing director Sudev Bangah, and Universiti Malaysia Kebangsaan, Centre for Sustainable and Inclusive Development, Economics Prof Dr Jamal Othman.
Selangor executive councillor and State Investment, Industry and Trade, Small and Medium Industries Committee chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim is expected to deliver the opening remarks prior to the discussion.
