SHAH ALAM, Aug 28 —The state government of Selangor has printed 1.3 million reusable face masks to be distributed for free to 995,000 pupils.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the distribution of the free face masks to pupils will begin next week onwards in all national schools (SK), national-type schools (SJK) as well as religious schools managed by the Islamic Religious Department of Selangor (JAIS).
“By September 1, we will be delivering (the face masks) to all the districts. I hope the district education directors, education departments and the education department of JAIS will ensure the face masks be delivered to the pupils to lighten their burden.
”I was also informed of a few matters concerning this school. Insyaallah, the state government will look into the issues and help as much as we can to ensure the strength of its education can be sustained since it has shown excellence in both its curriculum and co-curriculum areas,” Amirudin said after handing out face masks at Sekolah Rendah Agama Integrasi (SRAI) Seksyen 19 here.
He handed face masks to Filzah Mohd Nor, the headmaster of the school, which was chosen to be the first school to receive the face masks.
Meanwhile, Filzah thanked the MB for choosing her school as the first recipient and said the face masks will be distributed today to its 1,308 pupils via the class teachers.
