STFC: Selangor has potential to be free from Covid-19

SHAH ALAM, Aug 12 — Selangor has the potential to be free from the Covid-19 infection despite recording the second-highest number of total cases with an accumulated figure of 2,139 as of yesterday afternoon.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) said Selangor had registered zero new cases for four days from August 3 to 6 and had in recently saw low numbers in daily infections.

“As one of the states that were severely affected by Covid-19, this is an achievement for Selangor and an inspiring effort in battling the outbreak,” STFC wrote in a Facebook post last night.

However, STFC had reminded the people to continue abiding by the new normal practices such as using the SELangkah contact tracing system when entering a premise.

“This new normal is out ‘vaccine’, this is our weapon,” STFC added.

Since the implementation of the recovery movement control order on June 10, Selangor had in 11 separate occasions recorded zero new Covid-19 cases.

Yesterday, the state saw one new case which had involved an imported infection from New Zealand, with four active cases currently in treatment.
