Water supply restored to 95 pct of affected areas

SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — Water supply has been restored to 1,227 locations or 94.97 per cent of the 1,292 areas that were hit by the unscheduled water disruption in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, as of 12.30pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications chief Elina Baseri said the water supply in the remaining 65 areas are still in the process of being restored.

In a statement today, she said Gombak recorded the highest recovery rate at 98.18 per cent, followed by Petaling (97.37 per cent), Kuala Lumpur (92.71 per cent), and Klang/Shah Alam at (80.79 per cent).

“The water supply in all the affected areas in Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor has been fully recovered.

“Air Selangor is taking action to stabilise the water supply distribution system to restore water to areas that are still affected,” the statement read.
