Additional Smart Selangor Bus routes to benefit 8,000 residents

SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — The newly added Smart Selangor Bus SJ02 route will reach the PJS7 area in Subang Jaya and is expected to benefit 8,000 local residents, says Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze.

Ng said the new route would pass by low-cost residential areas, the Guan Di Temple, the Sri Subramaniam Temple, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Sunway and Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Sunway.

“Prior to this, the residents had faced difficulties in getting the bus service to the point that school students had had to cross the highway in order to take the bus to go to school.

“At the same time, many people from the B40 segment in the area are in need of the free bus service, so the additional route will be good news for them,” Ng added.

On May 15, State Local Government, Public Transportation and New Village Development executive councillor Ng Sze Han said the Smart Selangor Bus service has benefitted 38.6 million users up until September last year.

The state government had also dedicated RM78.6 million towards the operation and maintenance of more than 130 buses that are being used on a daily basis.
