Air Selangor: Water supply to restore fully from 8am tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Water supply to affected areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur is expected to be fully restored by 8am tomorrow, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement today.

Its corporate communications head Elina Baseri said the Selangor Phase 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plants have resumed operations as of 6pm today.

“All the four treatment plants will reach their maximum production capacity to fill up main water pipes and terminal storage tanks (gradually).

“Air Selangor has prepared a water supply restoration plan to the 1,292 areas that are experiencing the unscheduled water cuts across the districts of Petaling, Gombak, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Langat and Hulu Selangor,” she said.

Elina said a total of 91 water tank lorries have been mobilised to critical premises that are affected by the unscheduled water cut such as hospitals and dialysis centres.

“Users can get water supply assistance from 21 public taps and the 34 static tanks that have been placed at 17 local service centres (PKS) during this water supply restoration period and are advised to refer to the list of public taps and PKS at www.airselangor.com

“The public are also advised to observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) when taking water from the lorry tanks, public taps and PKS,”  she added.

More information on the unscheduled water disruption will be updated from time to time through official Air Selangor communication channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as via its smartphone application and the Air Selangor website at www.airselangor.com.
