Amirudin completes self-quarantine, no Covid-19 detected

SHAH ALAM, Oct 11 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has completed the 14-day self-quarantine and will return to work tomorrow.

In a Facebook post today, Amirudin said the result of his third Covid-19 screening was found to be negative.

“Due to social responsibilities, I have undergone self-quarantine and had chaired all meetings online at home (after returning from Sabah).

“Alhamdulillah (thank God) I have today completed the two-week quarantine and will return for official duties beginning tomorrow while adhering to the SOPs (standard operating procedures) and will also be monitoring my health,” he wrote.

Following his return from Sabah on September 28, Amirudin had undergone the mandatory Covid-19 screening at the Kuala Lumpur Internation Airport 2 (klia2) and his result received on September 29 had turned out negative.

Although he was free from quarantine and was allowed to have his quarantine bracelet to be cut, Amirudin had chosen to self-isolate at home for two weeks.

Amirudin was in Sabah since September 22 in support of Pakatan Harapan during the Sabah state election.

Due to the surge in the number of cases across the country, those travelling from Sabah are required to undergo compulsory swab tests.

However, the Sabah returnees are only advised and not mandated to self-quarantine at home.
