Business as usual for KDEBWM in Selangor despite CMCO

SHAH ALAM, Oct 12 — The daily cleaning operations and solid waste management in Selangor will be carried out as usual according to the schedule set during the implementation of the onditional movement control order (CMCO) effective this Wednesday.

KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) managing director Ramli Mohd Tahir said the management would ensure that all standard operating procedure (SOP) continue to be practised by employees in carrying out their duties.

“Subcontractor employees including compactor truck drivers, collection crews, and supervisors will wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty and are advised to wash their hands frequently and to use hand sanitiser,” he said in a statement here today.

At the same time, Ramli said all employees and subcontractor crews are advised to always maintain cleanliness and not to be in public premises for too long without a purpose except for work operations only.

He also urged all parties to manage domestic and bulk waste including disposal of face masks and hand sanitiser liquid bottles in a proper way.

The government has agreed to enforce CMCO in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya effective from 12.01am on October 14 to 27.
