SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — The ‘Citizen E-Payment Platform’ (CEPaT) cashless mobile application is set to offer 25 new services to the public which will include some 30 online payment methods.
Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) managing director Dr Fahmi Ngah said the application (app) has been upgraded and the public can download the 2.0 version by early December.
“The (earlier) CEPaT version 1.0 offered limited services and had only three local councils onboard whereas the reach for version 2.0 will be wider as eight local councils in Selangor will start using the platform.
“The effort to upgrade the application is also in line with the goal to ensure that payment services to the state government can be done via this platform by 2022,” said Fahmi Ngah to SelangorKini.
He said, although the registered user count for version 1.0 was only around 3,000, the transaction value recorded within one year of its operation had amounted to RM450,000.
The application which was launched on August 1, 2019, operates on ‘cloud’ technology for all kinds of payment services of various levels to the state government, including licence application, compound and assessment tax payments, among others.
The CEPaT app can be downloaded via Google Playstore for Android users and the AppStore for iOS users.
