MPK president Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin said the move was taken to curb the spread of the outbreak in the area, which has been declared a red zone.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has disrupted our daily lives, the opening of the bazaar site for the Deepavali celebration this year had to be reviewed.

“Following to the recent spike in cases in Klang, MPK has decided not to proceed with the bazaar this year,” he said in a recent statement.

As of yesterday, there are 77 Covid-19 active cases recorded in the district.

Some 36 residential areas in the Klang sub-district (mukim) have been placed under the targeted conditional movement control order (CMCO) beginning October 9 to 23.
