Covid-19 screening: MCCF calls for stern action against errant employers

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — The Malaysian Community Care Foundation (MCCF) calls for stern action against employers hiring foreign workers who do not undergo the mandatory Covid-19 screening, especially those working in the construction, services and manufacturing sectors.

MCCF Community Care Screening Programme advisor Professor Datuk Seri Dr Abu Hassan Asaari Abdullah said in a statement today many employers still did not take heed of the previous directive by the government that requires foreign workers in all sectors to undergo the test.

MCCF also did not rule out the possibility of fraud in the screening results made by irresponsible parties in order to make a profit, read the statement.

MCCF is of the view that the Reverse Prescription – Pulmonary Chain Reaction (rt-PCR) screening tests, wearing of face masks and adhering to the standard operating procedures are the community’s best vaccines in helping to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.
