Petaling, Klang record high Covid-19 active cases

SHAH ALAM, Oct 17 — The Petaling and Klang districts have recorded high figures of Covid-19 active cases in Selangor.

According to an infographic by the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19, Petaling has 245 active cases while 108 infections were recorded in Klang, as of yesterday.

“Petaling and Klang are still recording a consistent increase in cases, while the Sabak Bernam district remains a green zone.

“Be disciplined in practising the new norm,” the task force said in a post on Facebook last night.

Meanwhile, Hulu Langat registered 67 active cases, followed by Gombak (62), Kuala Langat (39), Sepang (17), Hulu Selangor (9), and one case in Kuala Selangor.

Yesterday, 50 new infections were detected in Selangor, with eight of the cases were from the newly identified Merbok Cluster.

This pushes the total figure in the state to 3,014 with 568 active cases.

A total of 629 Covid-19 cases were recorded nationwide yesterday, bringing the accumulated number to 18,758.
