PKR sec-gen tells members not to hold gatherings tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — PKR members have been reminded not to hold any gatherings or to gather at any location, especially along major roads towards Istana Negara tomorrow when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al- Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in a statement today called on all Malaysians to keep calm as the audience session takes place, and to remain calm for any subsequent process that takes place thereafter.

Saifuddin also reminded all PKR members of Parliament to continue rendering their services in their respective constituencies as well as to prioritise the people’s fate and welfare during this Covid-19 pandemic.

On October 8, Anwar, who is also the PKR president said Al-Sultan Abdullah had granted him an audience on Tuesday (October 13) and he would present to His Majesty a complete statement on his claims that he has secured parliamentary majority.

In a media conference on September 23, the opposition leader claimed he had secured “strong and convincing” support from the members of Parliament to form a new government.

Anwar said that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to grant him an audience but it was postponed after His Majesty was admitted to the National Heart Institute for treatment.
