Public cloud computing RFP submission to close on Oct 12 — Mampu

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 9 — The closing date for cloud computing service providers to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the provision of public cloud services to the government is October 12 at noon, said the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu).

In a statement yesterday, Mampu said qualified companies that possess the capability and technology which meets the need of government agencies in providing end-to-end services to the people, can participate and submit their offers for the government’s consideration.

Participants can visit https://www.mampu.gov.my/ms/awam/notis-tender-sebut-harga1 for further information.

Mampu said this is also in line with the announcement by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on August 15 stating that multinational giants Google, Amazon and Microsoft have shown interest to be involved in developing Malaysia as a regional information technology hub.

Mampu said the government has set up the Cloud Computing Committee (CCC), chaired by Mampu and the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, to determine governance, procurement, security, legislation and technical aspects with regard to the implementation of cloud computing services in the public sector.

Mampu said the cloud computer service for the public sector through MyGovCloud@PDSA as the Government Private Secured Cloud can support almost 25 per cent of the need of the cloud computing service in the public sector.

“The government intends for the cloud computing service for the public, or public cloud, to complement MyGovCloud@PDSA along with hybrid cloud computing over the next five years,” it said.
