By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Oct 26 — The Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat) has called for the public to contribute their stamp collections to the state’s Stamp Museum, which will be opened in Section 14, here.

Its Public Communications Unit said items required for the museum that is expected to complete in 2022 include stamp collections, postal stationery, as well as historical equipment and documents used in postal services, such as maps.

“We are putting together the collections gathered from across Malaysia and the world to be featured in the museum once it is completed. Therefore, we urge public contributions whether it is given for free, loaned, or leased,” said Padat in a statement.

According to Padat, official document and certificate of appreciation will be issued for those who contribute their collections for free.

The public may visit the website at www.padat.gov.my for further enquiries or contact the Stamp Museum coordinating officer Anas Abu Bakar at 03-55190050 or 019-233 3554.

The Stamp Museum is a first in Selangor as a reference centre related to the history of the national postal service.
