Russian Health Ministry registers another two drugs for Covid-19 treatment

MOSCOW, Oct 15 — Two Remdesivir drugs against the coronavirus infection were registered in Russia, according to the Russian Health Ministry.

“The Russian Health Ministry has registered two antiviral drugs Remdesivir for treatment of the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19). Registration certificates for domestic and imported drugs were issued on Wednesday,” Sputnik News quoting a statement said Thursday.

The authorities of several countries, including the USA, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Israel, and the UK, also approved the use of “Remdesivir” for the treatment of patients with the coronavirus.

“Remdesivir” was also used in the treatment of US President Trump, who was diagnosed with Covid-19, it added.

As of October 14, 14,231 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia, while the total number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,340,409 cases.

Earlier, the State Scientific Center of Virology and Biotechnology “Vector” produced a vaccine against Covid-19 called “EpiVacCorona” that became the second one to be registered in Russia.
