SHAH ALAM, Oct 28 — The Selangor government will be reviewing the implementation of the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at the Flat Sungai Emas in Banting and the Plaza Hentian Kajang, which starts today.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said he will submit a proposal in a meeting with the National Security Council within the 14 days of implementation to ensure the transmission of Covid-19 can be overcome.

“I will review how the EMCO was enforced at Sungai Emas in Tanjung 12, Kuala Langat as well as Hentian Kajang (Hulu Langat) because these two areas recorded a high number of cases which got the two districts to become red zones,” said Amirudin during a press conference at the Selangor State Secretariat building here today.

Yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the EMCO will be enforced at Flat Sungai Emas and Plaza Hentian Kajang until November 10.

Flat Sungai Emas have about 1,300 residents and about 7,500 people in Plaza Hentian Kajang.

Selangor today recorded 88 new Covid-19 infections out of the 801 cases registered nationwide.
