UiTM reduces convocation fee

SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has decided to reduce the convocation fees for the 92nd session for all levels of study to be held this  December 1 following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its Corporate Communications Department’s Public Relations, Media, Protocol and Event Management head, Nora Noordin said the previous fees of between RM150 to RM230 will be reduced to RM110 to RM190.

“The reduction is automatically given to all levels of study from Diploma and Degree, including PhDs, to reduce the financial burden of graduates.

“The top management of UiTM is very sensitive with the current situation and the decision to reduce the fees, is among the various initiatives undertaken by UiTM to help graduates,” she said in a statement here today.

Nora said it was also to respond to the call by the Higher Education Ministry for universities to be concerned with the situation facing students now.

She said UiTM had set on November 7 to December 1 for  the awarding of diplomas and degrees by appointment under the new norm, but it had been postponed following the increase in Covid-19 cases.

Therefore, graduates are to fill and re-register for a new date through the new Appointment System at the website https://konvokesyen.uitm.edu.my from October 26 to November 8, she added.
