3,000 jobs offered at career fair in Kuala Selangor

KUALA SELANGOR, Nov 16 — A total of 2,888 job opportunities in various fields were up for grabs at the Jelajah Selangor Bekerja 2020 (Selangor Jobs Exploration 2020) career fair, held at the Kuala Selangor Indoor Stadium yesterday.

Bukit Melawati state representative Juwairiya Zulkifli said the one-day event focuses on conducting interview sessions for local youths who have lost their jobs or want to venture into new careers.

“I hope the programme would be continued next year to help the people who were hit by the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The programme also reflects the state government’s efforts in helping out the people, whether it is by coordinating job fairs or programmes for online businesses,” said Juwairiya when met at the job fair held at the Kuala Selangor Indoor Stadium, here yesterday.

The career fair saw the participation of over 100 candidates attending interview sessions.

Over 90 companies are taking part in the Jelajah Selangor Bekerja 2020 event which kicked off in Kuala Selangor yesterday, followed by Gombak (November 21), Paya Jaras (22 November), Hulu Langat (29 November) and Shah Alam (5 and 6 December).

Some of the jobs openings include lecturer, Quran tutor, sales manager, research officer, technician, production operator and store manager.
