SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — The Bandar Utama community service centre is closed for two weeks starting yesterday after one of its staff was found positive for Covid-19.

Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the officer, Leong Chee Cheng aka John Leong, who is also Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Zone 7 council member, was suspected to be positive for Covid-19 after experiencing a fever.

Jamaliah said the officer went for a Covid-19 screening on Monday and was transferred for further checkup at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“We are in the process of tracing individuals who have come into close contact with Leong in the last two weeks.

“We will update from time to time should there be any further development on this matter,” she said in a statement yesterday.

Jamaliah said the community service centre practised the standard operating procedures (SOP) throughout its operation and was not opened to the public since the conditional movement control order (CMCO) started on October 14, except for appointments on urgent matters.

“Our staff will go for screening procedures and disinfection exercise will be carried out at the community service centre.

“For now, all matters involving the service centre are postponed until further notice,” she added.
