PUTRAJAYA, Nov 7 — The highest number of overnight Covid-19 infection recoveries in the country was recorded today with 1,029 cases, taking the tally to 27,409 recovered cases so far.
New Covid-19 cases, however, remained at four digits, although there was a slight drop with 1,168 cases reported, with active cases now at 11,666.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all the new cases were local transmissions.
“Sabah continues to report the highest number of new infections with 616 cases, followed by Selangor (247), Labuan (104), Negeri Sembilan (68), Perak (37) and Kuala Lumpur (28).
“Sarawak reported 25 cases, followed by Penang (18), Kedah (15), Johor (five), Terengganu (three) and Melaka (two cases),” he said at a media conference on Covid-19 developments at the Health Ministry (MOH) today.
Dr Noor Hisham said three fatalities were reported overnight, taking the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 282.
All three are Malaysians who died at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Sabah.
“The first fatality was a 51-year-old woman with a history of high blood pressure, obesity and dyslipidemia, the second death involved a woman aged 62, with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke while the third was a 55-year-old man who also had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke,” he said.
To date, there are 87 Covid-19 patients being treated at the Intensive Care Unit, 32 of whom are intubated, he added.
