SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 — The full results of the screening on individuals at the Top Glove workers’ hostel in Klang, which was placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), are expected to be known tomorrow.

Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh said the test conducted by the District Health Office (PKD) on Top Glove workers and residents nearby was completed yesterday.

“So we need two days to get the results on yesterday’s tests. The results will come out in stages. Those who have undergone the initial testing have already received their results.

“Once we receive the full results, we will have a discussion with the PKD on further action that also involves (results from) the second screening,” she said when contacted today.

Nurulhuda said the screening process went smoothly with all employees and residents giving their full cooperation.

“We did not experience any problems. They understand the importance of this screening and thus cooperated with the authorities,” she said.

Last Monday, the government announced the enforcement of the EMCO at the Top Glove hostel in Klang after the Health Ministry detected 215 positive Covid-19 cases.

Following that, a total of 5,700 workers and 1,200 residents living nearby were subjected to 14 days of EMCO and had to undergo screening.
