EMCO in Taman Mesra, Sandakan extended beginning tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10— The government has decided to extend the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Taman Mesra, Sandakan, Sabah for another 14 days from tomorrow (November 11) until November 24.

Previously, the government has announced the implementation of EMCO in the housing estate from October 28 until today (November 10).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the extension was made following the advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

‘’The MOH has carried out 1,124 screenings and 134 positive cumulative cases have been recorded in the area.

“Of the total, 43 cases have fully recovered and there are still 91 active Covid-19 cases in the area,” he told a press conference here today.

Ismail Sabri said the government had also decided to end the EMCO in Taman Mawar, Sandakan as scheduled today.

“As of November 6, the MOH has carried out 731 screenings and 87 positive cumulative cases have been recorded. Of the total, 64 positive Covid-19 cases have recovered while the remaining 23 active cases are currently receiving treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the police had conducted 53,770 inspections nationwide to ensure SOP compliance yesterday and arrested 341 individuals for various offences.

”Of the total, 307 people were issued compound fines, 33 remanded and one was given bail,” he said.
