Finas to return 100 pct of ITFC to producers

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) will give back 100 per cent of the Feature Film Screening Incentive (ITFC) to producers in a bid to empower their rights.

FINAS in a statement tonight said the decision which would take effect immediately was approved during its Corporation Members meeting chaired by FINAS chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid, recently.

Besides that, FINAS will extend the implementation of ‘Insentif Saringan Prihatin’ for Covid-19 test for production companies that conduct filming activities during the conditional movement control order period until December 6.

Meanwhile, the statement said FINAS would hand over the name of companies which failed to complete their production based on the agreement signed between 2015 and 2019, to its panel lawyer.

“The panel will evaluate the actions to be taken against the companies based on the provisions of the law,” the statement said, adding that the list of this year’s Finas funding recipients is available on https://www.finas.gov.my/.

The public can contact Finas Corporate Communication Unit at 03-7968 2182 or e-mail to [email protected] for further information or enquiries, it said.
