PUTRAJAYA, Nov 23 — A former chief executive officer with the title of ‘Datuk’ and his wife are to face charges in the Shah Alam Sessions Court tomorrow relating to making false claims and committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving about RM140 million over a period of five years since 2013.
According to a source from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the couple, aged 63, were detained about 9.40 am today at the MACC headquarters, here, when present to give their statements.
The source said the ‘Datuk’ would be facing a number of charges for making false claims involving about RM8 million and CBT involving about RM132 million from 2013 until 2017.
Meanwhile, his wife, who is a director of a private company, is expected to face the charge of abetting him in committing the offences.
