SHAH ALAM, Nov 29 — Selangor government will virtually hold the ‘Larian Menjunjung Kasih 2020’ in conjunction with the Sultan of Selangor’s Birthday.
State executive councillor for youth and sports development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the event will take place at the participants’ respective homes in line with the standard operating procedures (SOP) to curb the spread of Covid-19.
He said the run is a continuation of the Selangor Xtiv Virtual Run programme, which received 12,000 entries since its launching in May.
“The state government expects to get more than 15,000 participants in the ‘Larian Menjunjung Kasih 2020’ event, the highlight of the Selangor Xtiv Virtual Run programme, which ends on December 31.
“The public, especially citizens of Selangor, are invited to enliven this event which is the best platform to show respect and love for the royal institution, the symbol of national sovereignty,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Khairuddin said each participant would receive a running T-shirt, medal and certificate as well as a chance to be one of the 20 lucky winners to win various exciting prizes.

The annual event held in collaboration with the Selangor State Sports Council is entering its sixth year since it was introduced in 2015.
