‘Master the art of online interviews,’ exco tells youths

SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — The youths should prepare themselves for online job interviews by mastering the skills in order to ace the interview, says the state executive councillor for youth development.

Mohd Khairuddin Othman said many employers have shifted to conducting job interviews online following the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Those who are seeking employment have to be able to have the know-how on the latest technologies, which is also one of the criteria that are being assessed by employers when selecting their candidates.

“Many of the employers taking part in the state government’s career roadshow, the Jelajah Selangor Berkerja programme, conduct the interviews online. Therefore the candidates have to prepare themselves with the new norm,” he told SelangorKini today.

More than half of the 60 companies which participated in the event in Kuala Selangor, Gombak and Saujana Utama, which were held on November 15, 21 and 22 respectively, had interviewed their candidates via online.

For the event in Hulu Langat on this coming Sunday, 12 of the 19 participating employers will conduct online interviews.
