SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — Selangor has recorded RM11.7 billion worth of investment between January until September this year, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
The Menteri Besar said 60 per cent of the investment is from the services sector, while the other 40 per cent is from the manufacturing, construction, agriculture and quarry sectors.
“In 2018 Selangor successfully recorded RM17 billion worth of investment and last year it increased to RM18 billion.
“Selangor is always viewed as an industrial state, but now the economic ecosystem has changed as the services sector becomes more important,” answered Amirudin to a question by Semenyih assemblyman Zakaria Hanafi during the State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.
Amirudin said among the factors that attracted investors to Selangor is transparency by its administration, investor-friendly policy and high-quality infrastructure.
“(This includes) the 100-day Approval Policy to start a business or investment, visits to factories as well as virtual exhibitions and seminars in helping us face the challenging economic situation next year,” he said.
