SHAH ALAM, Nov 19 — Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) demolished 20 units of illegal billboards built on government reserve land yesterday.

According to MBSJ, the billboards or outdoor advertising structure did not receive approval on its placement and visual aspects.

“This raises doubts over the safety of the structure and the visuals displayed to the public does not follow MBSJ and Work Ministry standards.

“In addition, the placement of the billboards is disorganised and causes an eyesore,” said the local authority on Facebook.

Yesterday, an enforcement operation on billboards structure was conducted at Kilometer (KM) 7.3 to KM17.7 of the Federal Highway.

The operation was also attended by MBSJ Mayor Noraini Roslan and Work Ministry deputy secretary-general (Policy/ Development) Datuk Badrul Hisham Mohd.
