By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Nov 6 — Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) has launched an investigation and taken immediate action following an accident involving a lorry carrying palm oil at KM276.1 of the North-South Expressway (Plus) this morning.

The agency said the incident may have caused the Sungai Labu and Salak Tinggi Water Treatment Plant (WTP) operation to be stopped as oil spills were detected entering the highway drain.

“Preliminary information obtained shows that the contaminants will enter Sungai Jerangkang and then flow into Sungai Batang Labu.

“The distance between the pollution to Sungai Labu WTP is approximately 10.7km while to Salak Tinggi WTP is 15.68km,” stated the agency in its Facebook post this morning.
