Selangor records highest Covid-19 infections with 364 cases

SHAH ALAM, Nov 13 — Selangor recorded its highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 364 infections out of the 1,304 daily cases reported in the country today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cases in Selangor include three imported infections involving foreigners.

“Out of the 361 (local) cases reported, 292 cases are from existing clusters, while 28 are from close contact screenings and 41 infections were detected from other testings,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a statement today.

According to the data by the Health Ministry’s National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), Hulu Langat district topped the list of new infections recorded in Selangor with 178 cases.

This is followed by Klang district with 109 cases, Petaling (36), Sepang (24), Kuala Langat (10), Gombak (2) and Kuala Selangor (1).

Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor recorded no Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, Selangor had also recorded the second-highest number of Covid-19 recoveries in the country today with a total of 154 patients.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sabah recorded the highest figure with 447 recoveries out of the total 900 patients discharged today.

As of noon today, the cumulative figure of coronavirus recorded in Selangor stands at 7,239, out of the total 45,095 cases recorded nationwide.
