Seven villages in Hulu Langat hit by flash floods

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Continuous downpour that lasted five hours since 2am this morning resulted in seven villages in the Hulu Langat subdistrict (mukim) to be struck by flash floods.

The Dusun Tua state assemblyman Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof said the affected locations were Kampung Batu 20 Sungai Lui, Kampung Batu 14, Kampung Batu 16, Kampung Kuala Perdik, Kampung Batu 18, Kampung Batu 17 and Kampung Sungai Serai.

“The rain has stopped but the flood situation has not subsided and the villagers’ houses are still submerged by flood water. However, we are made to understand that there is yet to be any temporary shelter being opened.

“Nonetheless, no casualty has been reported in the incident,” said Edry Faizal when contacted by SelangorKini.

He said he had hoped that the flood victims would be patient and continue to pray when faced with adversity.

“Always make sure that one’s safety is prioritised and get in touch with your respective village heads for any additional assistance required,” he added.
