US presidential election: Biden wins Michigan, leads with 264 vs Trump’s 214 electoral votes

WASHINGTON, Nov 5 — While counting in several states continue to determine the winner of the highly tensed US Presidential election, Democratic candidate Joe Biden has won another crucial state, Michigan, raising his electoral votes to 264 versus President Donald Trump’s 214 count.

CNN reported that with Michigan’s 16 electoral votes, Biden now has a total of 264 – six shy of the magic number of 270 needed to win the US presidency.

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign team will be reportedly seeking a recount in Wisconsin, where Biden claimed victory earlier.

The team has also sought legal intervention in the state of Pennsylvania where thousands of votes are still being counted.

Counting is also ongoing in Nevada and Arizona.
