Kuala Lumpur, Nov 11 — The Sungai Selangor Phase 1, 2 and 3 and the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plants (WTP) have resumed operations and users can expect to receive water supply from 3pm onwards today, says the Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
Its head of communications Elina Baseri said the water supply will return in stages.
She said as of 2.40am, the pollution level of the four WTPs read zero TON (threshold odour number) for three consecutive times.
“At 7am, all four WTPs have completed cleaning and pumping activities. Clean and safe water quality is being ensured for supply according to the Health Ministry standards.
“The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) has confirmed that there is no more odour detected and we are ascertaining the water quality in the water treatment processes as well as the balancing ponds,” she said in a statement today.
Elina said 111 water tanks have been mobilised to affected areas with 14 public taps prepared, 17 local service centres opened and five litres of drinking water being distributed to the consumers.
More information on the latest water supply recovery status in affected areas is accessible via Air Selangor’s official social media channels at Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, the Air Selangor smartphone application as well as its website at www.airselangor.com.
