By Khairul Azran Hussin

SHAH ALAM, Nov 19 — Youths seeking to grow their business are advised to apply for allocations under the Selangor Hijrah Foundation (Hijrah), said state executive councillor for youth development Mohd Khairuddin Othman.

He said the state government is committed to producing more new entrepreneurs and help those in need of additional fund to increase their income thus helping to boost Selangor economy.

“The world today needs youths to be fast in seizing opportunities being offered if they do not want to be left behind. If there is a scheme or allocation provided by the government, take it and do not miss that opportunity.

“We want to ensure that development of youth in the state continues to be empowered through various types of assistance, sponsorship and financing,” he said during a talk show organised by Suara Merdeka yesterday.

Through the Selangor 2021 Budget, Hijrah Selangor received an allocation of RM15 million to help entrepreneurs get loans.

So far, Hijrah has channelled loans totalling RM517 million to help 53,958 entrepreneurs.
