SHAH ALAM, Dec 29 — The mass community screening initiated by the Selangor government found that almost 80 per cent of the individuals tested positive for Covid-19 were asymptomatic.

Therefore, SELangkah project director Dr Helmi Zakariah said the screening process is instrumental in curbing the spread of the virus, especially among the high-risk groups.

“It is highly crucial for us to know about our health status, thus, the need to do personal screening or the targeted community screenings,” he said on Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara talk show last night.

Dr Helmi said the public can also log into the screening.selangkah.my website and pre-register if they need the state health staff to carry out community screening around their residential areas.

“Detailed information can be filled after which the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) will determine whether an area requires community screening or not,” he explained.

The state administration had previously carried out Covid-19 community screenings which include the drive-through testing method as well as door-to-door operation.

Selangor was reported to be the first to implement the drive-through screening method.
