AWC bags RM107 mln Shah Alam Hospital support services contract

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — AWC Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd, has bagged a contract from the Ministry of Health to provide support services for Shah Alam Hospital for a total contract sum of RM107.9 million.

The contract spans five years and is slated to commence on January 1, 2021.

In a statement today, AWC said the tender was won through an open tender process on a competitive basis although the company is the incumbent service provider for Shah Alam Hospital and has been maintaining the hospital since 2016.

It said as per the terms of the current contract, there were no extensions allowed, thereby leading to an open tender being called by KKM.

Group chief executive officer/president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer Mohamed Nagoor said this brought the company’s contract wins for the current financial year 2021 (FY21) to approximately RM160 million.

“Going forward, we look to execute these projects whilst delivering sustainable earnings growth in line with our recovery plan for FY21,” he said in a statement today.

In addition to Shah Alam Hospital, the company is also involved in the maintenance of the National Cancer Institute.
