Christmas day: Slow-moving traffic on major highways as of 5pm

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — Traffic flow on several major highways from the capital to the north and south was moving slowly this evening as people are still travelling in conjunction with the Christmas holidays.

A spokesman for Plus Malaysia Berhad said as of 5pm today, traffic was slow from Ipoh to the Menora Tunnel in Perak and Bukit Tambun to Juru in Penang.

“Traffic was also slow in Slim River to Sungkai and Bidor to Gopeng (in Perak) following the increase in vehicles,” he said when contacted.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) said the southbound traffic was also slow including Port Dickson to Senawang and Senawang to Pedas Linggi.
