SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — Covid-19 cases are expected to rise following the increase in Community Screening programme said Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) head Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said his team was expanding screening and rapid test kits (RTK) to control pandemic infections.

“STFC’s focus for this community screening is so that the infection rate is less than five per cent, so far it is still at a high level of eight per cent.

“It is an alarming number but we have to admit that the virus (already) exists in the community, (thus) it is important to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP),” he said in an interview titled ‘Cabaran Tangani Peningkatan Kes Covid-19 di Selangor’ at Astro Awani last night.

Dr Dzulkefly added that the aims of the implementation of the screening and RTK testing were to get immediate results.

“We also want this screening process to be easy and friendly for all communities in Selangor,” he said.
