EBN launches Malaysia’s frist e-sports city

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — Esports Business Network (EBN) today launched Malaysia’s first e-sports city, the EBN Esports City, with the aim of making it the go-to destination and establishing Malaysia’s e-sports footprint locally, regionally and globally.

The RM4 million full-service EBN Esports City, located on the top floor of Quill City Mall here, covers 65,000 square feet and is equipped with the latest technology and support system to host world-class e-sports tournaments, events and conventions.

EBN Group chief executive officer Adrian Gaffor said the company’s mission was to open the doors for brands to enter the world of e-sports and gaming as well as to develop a stable ecosystem for its community.

“Having been part of the fast-growing e-sports industry for close to two decades, we believe it is opportune to expand our offering and introduce a fresh concept to the market for both brands and communities.

“The launch of the EBN Esports City marks the first phase of our exciting plans,” he said at a press conference on the launch which was broadcast virtually.

The EBN Esports City currently houses the 10,650 square feet EBN Esports Arena, the Orange Esports Club, a premium e-sports cafe, the new EBN headquarters and three fully-equipped live broadcasting studios.

The city also presents a complete and holistic business and community offering which is aimed at establishing a strong e-sports ecosystem founded on three core pillars – e-sports consumer, e-sports business and e-sports opportunity.

“Strategic partnerships will be among our main business strategies. We strongly believe that partnerships can amplify the growth of the e-sports industry. Moving forward, we will continue to work closely with key partners, brands and communities to materialise our vision,” Gaffor added.

Meanwhile, EBN executive chairman Frank Ng said they were committed to working with the government at the community, sports, and industry levels to create a sustainable e-sports ecosystem.
