Klang continues to record highest Covid-19 cases in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 16 — The Klang district recorded 301 new Covid-19 infections out of 503 cases reported in Selangor yesterday.

The Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) informed that out of the 301 infections recorded in the Klang district, 274 cases were in the Klang sub-district (mukim) and another 27 were from the Kapar mukim, with 204 of the cases detected through screening on workers.

This was followed by the Hulu Langat district which recorded 52 infections, of which 29 cases are from the Kajang mukim, followed by its other mukim in Cheras (10), Ampang (6), Beranang (4) and Semenyih (3).

“Petaling district recorded 44 infections with 33 cases from Damansara mukim, followed by its other mukim in Petaling (6) and Sungai Buloh (5). While the Sepang district recorded 41 infections with all the cases coming from its Dengkil mukim,” stated JKNS on Facebook.

The department reported about 25 infections in the Kuala Langat district, followed by the Gombak district with 19 cases, Kuala Selangor district (13), Hulu Selangor district (4) and Sabak Bernam (1).

As of 12pm yesterday, 283 patients in the state recovered bringing the total recovery to 14,830 cases, while the death toll remains at 34.

Yesterday, 1,772 new Covid-19 cases were reported nationwide.
