SHAH ALAM, Dec 13 — The Selangor state government aims to create 15,000 employment opportunities next year through various efforts to resolve unemployment issues, says the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the measures taken include organising the Selangor Career Programme, Selangor Automotive Technical and Vocational Education and Teaching (TVET) initiative, the ‘Jom Kerja’ and Selangor Freelancers programmes.

“The Selangor Career and ‘Jom Kerja’ programmes offer 10,000 job opportunities across various sectors.

“The state government will also assist graduates of automotive technology to secure jobs through job-matching programmes under the Selangor Automotive TVET,” he said when met by the press after a visit to his Sungai Tua constituency today.

He added the state government also assists graduates and retrenched individuals to generate income through various platforms.

On October 30, Amirudin said a total of RM76 million had been allocated to assist those who lost their jobs following the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
