SHAH ALAM, Dec 18 — The Selangor government has launched the Tourism Voucher Subsidy Redemption programme valued at RM200 each beginning from January 8 to 31 next year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said 7,000 vouchers can be redeemed at hotel premises, licensed homestays and theme parks in Selangor via the Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet and Lazada platforms.

“For e-wallets, the vouchers can be redeemed through the tourism packages listed on the platforms.

“Meanwhile, for the Lazada platform, the public can redeem the voucher through the ‘Nak bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu!’ (Eager to Travel? Explore Selangor first!) campaign link and these vouchers are valid until June 31, 2021,” he said.

Amirudin said this at the launching ceremony of the ‘Pusing Selangor Dulu’ domestic tourism campaign at the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting room yesterday.

He said 43 industry players comprising operators of hotels, theme parks and homestays have joined the  programme.

“We must not give up and life must go on. The state government continues to work hard to implement all kinds of initiatives to ensure all of us will be able to stand up again,” he said.

On July 13, Amirudin announced the tourism voucher subsidy worth RM2 million.

A total of 553 tourism industry players in Selangor consisting licensed tour guides, homestay operators as well as Selangor community hosts have received a one-off aid of RM1,000 (in November this year).
