MyTax can minimise leakage, improve revenue collection — IRB

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 — The Inland Revenue Board’s (IRB) information gateway and one-stop centre for tax payers, MyTax, is capable of minimising the country’s revenue leakage while simultaneously boosting revenue collection.

Director of Tax Operation Department Datuk Adenan Che Semail said MyTax provides safe and user-friendly access to services and products under the IRB.

“MyTax will also make it easier for taxpayers to access their latest information without having to come to the IRB office, especially amidst the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said, adding that the portal prioritises taxpayer information protection.

He said this while speaking as a panellist on Bernama TV’s Ruang Bicara talkshow, titled “Mytax – Tax Information Gateway” yesterday.

Developed by the IRB, MyTax aims to facilitate members of the public, especially taxpayers, by providing access to various information, including ledger transactions, loan repayment status and monthly tax deductions.

Tax payers can use the services at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/.

On November 19, the IRB launched new tax products, namely the IRB Corporate Plan Book 2021-2025 which is also a manifestation of the agency’s five-year plan and strategy, as well as MyTax.
